NAR members are increasingly busy in real estate, with the typical member having 12 transaction sides in 2012, up from 10 transaction sides in 2011. Only three percent of residential specialists had no residential transactions in 2012, compared to six percent in 2011. Among residential specialists, 97 percent had at least one residential transaction in the last year, and 24 percent had at least one commercial transaction.
Among commercial specialists, 80 percent had least one commercial transaction and 96 percent had at least one residential transaction. On a firm level, NAR confirmed that real estate firms are also active in the real estate market on a daily basis. Ninety-four percent of residential real estate firms had at least one transaction in the past year and the typical firm had 25 transaction sides. (Keeping in mind the typical firm has a single office and two licensed full-time real estate professionals.)
This data is based on NAR’s 2013 Member Profile and recently released 2013 Profile of Real Estate Firms.
