RentalRoost, the lifestyle-based house and apartment finder, announced recently the company’s website now supports home searches throughout the U.S. Parents may now search for properties by school district, college students can search for housing by distance to 9,000 different campuses and home seekers of all types may filter their options using more than 20 data-driven search criteria.
“When people move to new cities, they may not know the neighborhoods well, but they know their priorities,” says Nitin Shingate, CEO of RentalRoost. “We provide all the data and search options they need to search by the criteria that matter most. And after piloting this technology in the Bay Area, we’re proud to offer it throughout the U.S.”
RentalRoost’s School-Based Search, the very first of its kind, allows home finders to select a school and then see which properties fall within the true boundary. Alternatively, parents can pick a property and then check to which school district it belongs. School ratings provided by GreatSchools even allow home finders to search by school quality.
In addition, RentalRoost’s Off Campus Living tool now allows students to research properties by proximity to over 9,000 public and private college campuses. The search engine saves users from the tedious process of eyeballing or measuring the distance of each property on Google Maps.
School and campus-based searches are two of more than 20 search options available to home seekers through the United States. On RentalRoost, users can also browse by criteria like kid-friendliness, transit options, dining, shopping, arts and culture, and pet-friendliness, alongside traditional criteria like bedrooms, baths, and price. For each neighborhood, users can also view pie charts of detailed demographics such as marital status, household income, occupations, academic achievement and more.
“Price and amenities are something that almost any home finding engine can provide,” says Vikram Raghavan, president of RentalRoost. “So we’ve provided a home finding experience that relies on real-time data and proprietary algorithms to help people find properties that fit their lifestyle. We know today that the right schools, community, transit options, and local businesses are just as important as the living space.”
While RentalRoost is available throughout the U.S., the company has accumulated the highest volume of listings in the following cities: Las Vegas, Houston, Jacksonville, Austin, San Antonio, Dallas, Phoenix, Indianapolis, Fayetteville, Chicago, Tucson, Orlando, Columbus, Atlanta and Philadelphia.
