As the real estate market continues to pick up in the northern suburbs of the Dallas/Ft. Worth, Texas, metroplex, it might be easy for agents to fall back on simply processing the rapid turnover of properties they’re handling.
But even in an extremely busy market, Darin Davis, a real estate professional with Keller Williams Realty in Southlake, Texas, is leading by example by reminding buyers and sellers about the critical importance of protecting themselves and the properties they’re either moving into, or out of, with an American Home Shield® (AHS®) Home Protection Plan.
“We’re still among the top job markets in the U.S., and as people keep moving here, inventory continues to constrict, especially in our Northern suburbs, which are known for a great quality of life and good schools,” says Davis. In the midst of a red-hot market, sales are occurring before the For Sale sign is even put in place, and buyers and buyers agents are knocking on doors asking residents if they’re interested in selling their home.
An AHS client himself, Davis goes on to say that his clients enjoy the growing flexibility the company’s home protection plans offer.

And since the coverage converts from the seller to the buyer once the transaction is complete, Davis sees almost every buyer continuing the coverage.

For buyers and sellers in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, Davis says it’s critical to have a home protection plan in place to address key equipment breakdowns, especially during the extremely hot summer months.
“We’re always running into issues with older air conditioning systems failing, and those repairs can run in the thousands,” says Davis. “And with the new government standards for energy efficiency associated with cooling equipment, consumer repair or replacement costs are being driven even higher.” AHS also offers refrigerant coverage limits for affected customers. By continually monitoring trends in refrigerant costs, and actively working with their contractor network, they’re able to obtain fair pricing for their customers.
