Whether it’s signing in using Facebook, Google+ or even creating a unique username, prospective renters and buyers simply sign up for an account where they can view properties, save previous searches and even take notes when visiting a property in-person. “In the end, we’re working to make the real estate process as easy and fun as possible so that you actually look forward to finding your new home,” says Venkatesan.

Subconsciously or not, Venkatesan goes on to say that the company is using its treasure trove of information to promote greener living by helping people search for pedestrian-friendly areas that provide easy access to public transportation. “There’s a huge emphasis on green living today, and by utilizing a search criteria that is completely lifestyle-based, we’re helping today’s environmentally-sound consumer live greener and cleaner.”

Having grown exponentially from where they were just one year ago, the gears are already turning when it comes to what Raghavan, Shingate and Venkatesan see in the company’s future. “Not only are we hoping to expand the RentalRoost product as a whole, especially geographically, we’re also looking to expand GrayRoost to several other states,” says Venkatesan.

In addition to further expansion, and to keep pace with today’s consumer, Venkatesan goes on to say that a more mobile-friendly product is a crucial part of the equation. And last but not least, the team hopes to provide property management tools through Houserie so that landlords can manage property remotely.

“If we can use data to provide house and apartment hunters the perfect property while minimizing the headaches typically associated with the process—and present the data quickly and efficiently—that’s what the consumer wants,” concludes Venkatesan. “If we can utilize this information and present it in the way the client wants it, it’s going to help alter the future of real estate by changing the slow, cumbersome, and often annoying process into something that can be quick and fun.”
