Brokers gathered in Atlanta last week for NAR’s 2014 Broker Summit where industry leaders shared fresh insights on current conditions and discussed the future of the real estate industry.
Brokers also participated in roundtable discussions on best practices and legal issues, including a Power Broker session by RISMedia.
On Wednesday, Steve Brown, 2014 NAR President and Dale Stinton, NAR CEO, delivered opening remarks followed by an industry overview by Jon Coile, president and CEO of Champion Realty, Inc. U.S. Senator Johnny Isakson offered a congressional perspective on real estate issues followed by an afternoon of breakout sessions and ending with dinner with celebrity speaker David Eisenhower, Historian and grandson of General and President Dwight D. Eisenhower (sponsored by realtor.com®).
Educational sessions continued Thursday beginning with RISMedia’s Power Broker Roundtable where topics included, communicating with consumers with the correct message in the correct medium, smart growth strategies for brokers, making the right hiring choices and providing the right training to make them successful, and how to make the right technology decisions.
Steve Brown moderated the Power Broker panel, which included speakers Terry Hankner, President of Comey & Shepherd (Cincinnati, OH), Kevin Levent, President of Better Homes & Gardens Metro Brokers (Ga.), Jack O’Connor, Broker-owner and founder of The Denver 100 (Colo.) and David Boehmig, President & Founder, Atlanta Fine Homes Sotheby’s International Realty.
NAR Chief Economist Lawrence Yun provided insight into recent economic trends affecting the real estate industry with closing remarks again from Brown and Stinton.
