In light of the recent attacks on real estate agents in the news and Realtor® Safety month, RE/MAX Gateway has put together a Safety Workshop on Thursday, October, 23, 2014 from 10am to 12pm in Centreville, Virginia. This training event is open to all Real Estate Agents, regardless of brokerage affiliation.
This work shop is broken into 2 parts: education by PFC Tara Gerhard, Crime Prevention Specialist-Sully District Station and hands on self-defense by TopKick Martial Arts. What does” hands-on” self-defense mean? It means TopKick instructors will actually be teaching agents how to defend themselves in an attack so that they can get away. Taekwondo has multiple physical parts: Attack (strikes, kicks, sparing), Forms, Weapons and Self-defense.
The focus for this workshop is Self Defense. Self defense means being able to protect/defend, knock the attacker off guard and get away. Real Estate Agents will be taught these techniques – mean people and violence does not discriminate!
RE/MAX Gateway continues to show its commitment and support to real estate agents by offering all office trainings to all licensed real estate agents, regardless of brokerage affiliation, as well trained agents are better equipped to serve the real estate needs of their clients and communities.
