Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Network Realty REALTOR® Cindy Guy, and her husband, Doug, were recently honored by the Jacksonville Historic Preservation Commission at its annual awards ceremony for the renovation of their home on Riverside Avenue, the company announced. The couple also received an Outstanding Home Renovation award from Riverside Avondale Preservation.
“We are thrilled Cindy has been recognized for saving and restoring one of Avondale’s historic homes,” says Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Network Realty Founder, President and CEO Linda H. Sherrer. “Her efforts have made a positive impact in the community and illustrate the best way to preserve a historic home is to keep it in use.”
The Guys purchased the circa 1925 home in March 2013. Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Realtor Margee Michaelis represented the seller. The Guys completed a major renovation on the home before moving into the home in September 2013.
“The home was in a state of disrepair because it had sat idle,” says Cindy Guy. “We had been looking and this home is perfect for us — we call it our forever home.”
The Guys are proud to be recognized for the renovation they completed on their home. Cindy Guy also believes Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Network Realty played a pivotal role in helping the couple locate the home.
“Our company has a finger on the pulse and knows what is happening in our communities,” says Avondale/San Marco Broker/Manager Sheron Willson. “We are a very unique company and our team of real estate professionals often knows about opportunities even before they happen.”
The Avondale/San Marco branch office’s real estate professionals are some of the most successful in the company. The office was recently named one of Berkshire Hathaway’s top three offices in the Southeast region for the fourth consecutive year.
