Smoke, a 20-year real estate veteran, will lead a team of real estate analysts and report to Luke Glass, Move’s executive vice president of industry platforms. Smoke will be based in the Washington, D.C. area. He can be followed on Twitter at @SmokeonHousing.

For the past six years, Smoke has served in key executive roles for Hanley Wood, a premier information, media, event, and strategic marketing services company serving the residential, commercial design and construction industries, including chief economist and senior vice president, executive director of market intelligence, and senior vice president of products and innovation.

As an entrepreneur, in 2006, Smoke founded BlueSmoke, LLC of Atlanta, a housing market research company that provided consulting services to builders, developers, lenders, and real estate investment companies and operated HousingIntelligence.com and RatingInsights.com. Prior to founding BlueSmoke, LLC, he served in several executive roles for Beazer Homes of Atlanta for which he developed its online business strategy. Smoke started his career as a management consultant with Deloitte..
Smoke earned a master’s degree in business administration in 1994 from the University of Texas at Austin and a bachelor of arts degree in economics and religious studies from Rhodes College.
