MLSListings Inc recently received two certifications from RESO, the organization has announced. MLSListings, a charter member of RESO, was recognized for the RETS 1.7.2 and 1.8 Server certifications, and is the one of the first to achieve both certifications.
The Real Estate Standards Organization (RESO) focuses on the development and implementation of data standards in real estate. RETS (Real Estate TransStandards) is a section of RESO that hosts products, services and standards. MLSListings has recertified for RETS 1.7.2 Server, but the recent RETS 1.8 certification required implementation and testing of new features and standards against its servers.
MLSListings has also implemented the new RESO Data Dictionary, and will submit its implementation to RESO when a certification tool is available.
“Our representation on the board of directors and long-standing relationship with RESO, is helping our local brokers and agents gain uniformed MLS data to improve their businesses,” says Jim Harrison, RCE, CAE, president and CEO, MLSListings Inc. “The standards RESO is setting for real estate data will make it easier for our brokers and agents as well as those across the country to create products using their data for marketing, statistics, and new products.”
MLSListings is also launching APIs for listing add/edit insertion. APIs make it easier for brokers and mobile app developers to interface directly with the MLSListings platform using a brokers back office system or other source.
“RESO is that force behind the real estate transaction that ensures the data is as accurate as possible and the parties within the transaction are on the same page,” says Bob Gottesman, executive director, RESO. “Something seemingly as small as a differing description of the same listing, can change the nature of a negotiation. We want all MLSs and supporting vendors to embrace certification as a commitment to better service and quality transactions.”
