Rebuilding Together recently announced that Sherry Chris has been elected chair of the national nonprofit’s national board of directors. Chris, who is president and CEO of Better Homes and Gardens® Real Estate, will lead the 14-member board as Rebuilding Together transforms the lives of low-income homeowners by improving the safety and health of their homes and revitalizing communities.
With affiliates across the country, local Rebuilding Together affiliates and nearly 100,000 volunteers complete about 10,000 rebuild projects nationwide each year. In 2014, Rebuilding Together delivered nearly $73 million in home improvements to more than 17,000 homeowners and residents across the country.
“Rebuilding Together helps preserve the American dream of homeownership for low-income homeowners in need of a safe and healthy home, and in the process ensures that communities and neighborhoods remain vibrant,” Chris says. “Over the coming years, Rebuilding Together will be focusing on expanding services, voice and reach to meet dramatically growing needs nationwide.”
Chris will take the chair along with an executive committee that includes Vice Chair Mell Meredith-Frazier, vice chairman, Meredith Corporation; Vice Chair Carrie Teffner, executive vice president and chief financial officer, Crocs, Inc.; Treasurer Debbie Lawrence; and Secretary Reese Fayde, Principal, Reese Fayde & Associates.
