Most new real estate agents that become affiliated with a well-known brokerage brand like Weichert® do not see the very first sales lead they are given turn into a $900,000 real estate deal. Nor does their first sales lead nearly quadruple the average sales price of the residential real estate transactions handled by their office.
But that’s exactly what happened to Mychael Normandie shortly after she joined WEICHERT, REALTORS® – Four Corners Real Estate in Storrs, Connecticut. The real estate deal brokered by the office’s newest agent was significantly more than most home sales handled by her co-workers, which average about $250,000.
The Weichert call center provided Normandie with her first sales lead last month. She had only been working at WEICHERT, REALTORS® – Four Corners Real Estate a few months and was just three weeks removed from the training Weichert requires its affiliated agents to go through before they can start receiving sales leads. Normandie, a licensed real estate agent since 2013, did exactly what Weichert trained her to do when given a sales lead: she contacted the perspective buyer to discuss the listing and get a better sense of the buyer’s needs and wants for a luxury home costing close to one million dollars; scheduled time to show the property; prepared her client’s all-cash offer for the listing; and, when it was time, worked with the seller’s agent to submit the offer.
The end result: offer accepted. Not a bad job for an office newcomer or a seasoned real estate professional. Normandie credits the supportive environment created by her co-workers and training she received when describing how she successfully handled her first Weichert sales lead.
“The agents that work here at WEICHERT, REALTORS® – Four Corners Real Estate are all supportive and behind you,” says Normandie, a resident of Scotland, Connecticut. “Having that kind of backing is very important, especially when you’re the office new guy. I’ve also been helped a lot in my short time here by the some of the great trainings and business tools provided by Weichert so I can do my job better.”
Normandie adds: “I haven’t been here very long so I’m trying to prove to (my company) that they made a good decision to bring me on board to help make the team more successful.”
Normandie can rest assured, her success as a real estate agent has caught the attention of others in her office.
“Mychael hit her first sales lead out the park,” says Lawrence Ross, owner of WEICHERT, REALTORS® – Four Corners Real Estate. “You can’t take anything for granted in this business, especially when dealing with a client that is looking to buy a luxury home. Mychael took a sales lead and built it into a relationship. The buyer is thrilled with the home she helped acquire and we couldn’t be more excited to have Mychael as part of our team.”
