RE/MAX Northern Illinois has announced that Jack Kreider has been named its executive vice president and regional director. He will manage the day-to-day operations of RE/MAX Northern Illinois, succeeding Jim Merrion, who is retiring after 13 years in that leadership role. The announcement was made by Brian Reagan, president of RE/MAX Northern Illinois.
Kreider has been associated with the RE/MAX organization since 1992 and most recently served as vice president of RE/MAX LLC, the global real estate franchisor based in Denver, Colo., where he oversaw four regional organizations representing 11 states, 1,050 offices and more than 16,000 agents. Over the course of his career at RE/MAX he was involved in managing operations in almost every region of the United States and western Canada, and is among just 21 people to have received the RE/MAX Legacy of Leadership award.
A long-time resident of the Denver area, Kreider is in the process of relocating to Chicagoland.
RE/MAX Northern Illinois, headquartered in Elgin, Ill., is one of the largest independently operated RE/MAX regions in the United States, with 106 offices and more than 2,250 agents. It will celebrate its 40th anniversary next year.
“We are excited about the skill set Jack Kreider brings to our organization,” says Reagan. “I have a special appreciation for his leadership and business development skills because our working relationship goes back more than 20 years. Finding a successor to Jim Merrion was not an easy task; he has done an outstanding job of guiding our network through some exceptionally challenging market cycles, but I have every confidence that Jack can lead RE/MAX Northern Illinois to new levels of success.”
Kreider assumes responsibility for a real estate network that is the market-share leader in the metropolitan Chicago area. In 2015, the RE/MAX market share in the metro-area was 16.4 percent. The RE/MAX Northern Illinois network is also a leader in agent productivity. Last year, its agents averaged 18 closed transactions each, far more than any of its top competitors.
“RE/MAX Northern Illinois increased its market share last year, and I’m excited at the prospect of continuing that growth,” Kreider says. “The RE/MAX brand name enables both our franchisees and our affiliated agents to achieve their business objectives. Watching that process play out is one of the real pleasures that my new position will provide, and naturally our regional organization will do all we can to facilitate that process.”
Kreider also notes that in joining RE/MAX Northern Illinois he is linking up with an organization widely recognized as a leader in deploying the advanced technological tools that have done so much to transform the residential real estate market in recent years.
“I’m committed to maintaining that leadership,” he says. “Our goal is to deliver the level of support that our agents and their clients deserve, and there is no question in my mind that the professionalism of RE/MAX agents is unsurpassed in our industry.”
