Dan Roemer has been a licensed real estate agent for the past 11 years. He entered the highly competitive profession after seeing an ad posted on an Internet job board that mentioned “unlimited income potential.” Roemer responded to the ad and shortly after began working at WEICHERT, REALTORS® – Suburban Properties in Frisco.
Success soon followed. He was twice named the winner of the distinguished President’s Club award by the national franchise network, Weichert Real Estate Affiliates, Inc., for his overall production during a calendar year and has received numerous other Weichert® awards throughout his career. Roemer credits the business tools and marketing strategies provided by Weichert as a big part of his success as a REALTOR. He completely buys into the Weichert business model. So much so, Roemer decided to borrow a phrase from the wildly popular card game, Texas Hold ‘Em, and go “all in” and buy the company that he has worked for since 2005 earlier this year.
“Working here at WEICHERT, REALTORS® – Suburban Properties has been a dream come true,” said Roemer, a resident of Frisco who has been named the top producing Weichert affiliated agent in the area since 2011. “Weichert has given me everything needed to succeed in this business. So when the previous owners decided to sell off their real estate business and focus on growing their mortgage business, I jumped at the chance to take over the real estate side and purchase Weichert, Realtors® – Suburban Properties.”
But it’s a big jump from employee to employer. And success is not guaranteed. There’s a tremendous amount of risk involved when buying a business. However, Roemer firmly believes in the Weichert brand and was willing to put his money where his mouth is.
“Weichert as a whole, the products and services and the trainings they offer their affiliate agents and owners, is great,” Roemer said. “It’s kind of like a big family. Everyone is trying to help each other. If one Weichert office has a great strategy they share it with other offices. When we get a customer referral from outside our service area, we first look for another Weichert office to hand that referral off to because we know they’ll be taken care of.”
Roemer is banking on the support Weichert provides its affiliates around the country to grow the small, five-person Frisco real estate agency that serves the Greater Dallas-Fort Worth area, which was rated the hottest housing market in the country last year by Realtor.com, the official website of the National Association of REALTORS®. His goal is to up the number of agents working at the office to about 25 in the months ahead to better serve the 6 million residents that live in the fourth largest metropolitan area in the United States. He also wants to provide them with the same invaluable Weichert resources that have helped him succeed over the years.
“My goal is to provide them with the tools and trainings to succeed like I did,” said Roemer, who has lived in the Dallas-Fort Worth area for the last 31 years. “If my agents succeed, we all succeed. It’s that simple.”
Roemer’s optimism is shared by the agents in his office and many throughout the Weichert franchise network, including Martin J. Rueter, president of Weichert Real Estate Affiliates, Inc.
“Individuals like Dan are what make Weichert so great,” said Rueter. “His belief and total buy-in of the high quality service that Weichert offers home buyers and sellers is what separates us from other real estate brokerage firms. I have no doubt that someone who has worked so hard as Dan has, and is willing to invest so much, will experience nothing but success in the years ahead. I look forward to seeing his office grow into one of our most productive offices in the country.”
But in order to do that, Roemer knows he needs to bring top-notch agents on board and Weichert can help with that as well.
“Weichert also gives me great resources to help recruit the best agents, which are a key ingredient for success if I want this business to grow the way I envision it can. I truly believe Weichert has given me everything I need to be a successful business owner,” added Roemer.
