Over on Zolve we have a fun post on public speaking inspired by Dwight K. Schrute of The Office. In the second season of The Office, Dwight must give an acceptance speech as the salesman of the year award winner. Those familiar with the show know Dwight’s speech cements his place as one of the best public speakers of all time, and his is a high standard we should all strive to attain. For those of us unable or unprepared to challenge Dwight’s public speaking prowess, we offer some tips from Sellsius designed to help you become a better public speaker.
The tips are very valuable, and we can utilize them as real estate professionals, because, whether we are accepting a salesman of the year award, interacting with clients or networking, I believe many of the same principles apply. Our body language, smile and ability to answer questions say a lot about our confidence, and if we hone these skills we will essentially kill two birds with one stone, meaning if we have fine interpersonal skills, they should naturally carry over to public speaking, and vice-versa.
