Gov. Ritter’s Colorado Achievement Plan for Kids looks very promising for those of us in the Colorado Springs New Homes Real Estate area. The Plan would better prepare our state’s children for higher education by essentially widening the lines of communication between higher education institutes and elementary and secondary schools, according to The Gazette. Currently there is a “disconnect” in the system, as Colorado “school districts and the state Board of Education [currently] create academic standards with little input from the universities.”
- CSAPs would become more beneficial to parents and teachers by “[providing] greater insight into what areas…students are weak in”
- There would be a more intense focus on accomplishment instead of requirement
- Colleges would provide by-the-letter plans for introductory level class curriculum, creating a more meaningful goal toward which students and teachers can work
The implications here are clear, I think, but worth iterating nonetheless. Improvements in education mean improvements for the future. In participating in a more cohesive overall state unit of education, we will see improvements in our economy, our businesses, our politics, our homes and any other number of places. Then, as all these aspects of our cities and state begin to work together more cohesively, we will obviously see our neighborhoods slowly increase in value as well. Better education means a better city, and a better city means a better place for Colorado Springs New Homes residents.
