As we are all too aware, the status of new home sales is a powerful indicator of the state of the housing market. Recent Commerce Department statistics confirm that the state of new home sales is not strong. These Commerce Department stats show that new home sales fell in December to a 12-year low. The slowing of new home sales has left many builders around the country with standing inventory and the inability to attract buyers to their homes.
I’ve written before about the success we’ve had at RealtyBid.com in using online home auctions to help builders sell new homes. Lennar Homes in Palm Springs, Calif., successfully used RealtyBid.com to move properties in two communities. More recently, Lennar Homes in the Phoenix area used RealtyBid.com to sell properties in one of its premier communities—selling 16 of the 17 it offered.

Wade watched Lennar’s success and decided to take the auction route for properties in the communities in Sycamore Canyon, Eagle Point and Rancho Loma in Tucson and Vail, Ariz.

One builder that is working to take advantage of the benefit of marketing properties through RealtyBid.com is VisionsWest in the Phoenix, Ariz., area. VisionsWest will begin online home auctions of properties in two Phoenix condominium communities on February 20.
As I’ve said before, I believe there’s still demand for homes, especially new homes, at reasonable prices, and RealtyBid.com is one very positive alternative for marketing properties that are priced right.
