At RealtyBid.com, we’ve recently made some major upgrades to our website to enhance the home auction experience of our clients and customers and to more effectively accommodate our site’s ever-increasing traffic, inventory and amount of bidding.
Many of the changes we’ve recently made revolve around improving specific facets of the functionality of the site, especially the way in which agents interact with the site. However, one of our most impressive upgrades involves the implementation of state-of-the-art information display technology.
One such technology that was recently added enables those viewing property bid pages to see the most up-to-date information. This is of the utmost importance because our property bid pages are where visitors can view all information about a specific property and, most importantly, where they can view all bidding activity and place bids on properties themselves. According to JR Zeringue, RealtyBid.com’s chief technology officer who oversaw the implementation of all of our recent technology upgrades, RealtyBid.com’s bid pages have been converted into a Rich Internet Application utilizing Adobe technologies such as Flex and Flash.
Until we recently made our bid pages Flex-enabled, bidders or sellers watching an auction take place on the website needed to refresh theirs browsers often to ensure they were seeing the most up-to-date information. Zeringue said, “This technology allows bidders, property sellers, agents or any interested party to watch their computer screen—to watch the bid page—and immediately know what bidding activity is going on in a virtually real-time environment. No refreshing is necessary.”
Anyone who has engaged in online bidding probably understands the importance of being able to view real-time bidding activity. If you are feverishly watching the end of a home auction to see if you are the winning bidder or to see if you’ve been outbid and need to bid again before the end of the auction, the ability to view real-time bidding activity could be invaluable.
