Giving Back Can Boost Your Business
Giving back to the community that supports them is natural for most real estate professionals.
Some agents prefer the personal touch, volunteering time and effort through a variety of local organizations. Others give back by participating in marathons, tournaments or other local events to raise funds for local or national organizations. Still others do so by donating a portion of every commission check to their charity of choice.
Real estate and charitable giving have gone hand in hand for many years. But it’s an inescapable fact, no matter how agents choose to do their giving, that there’s an undeniable bonus:
volunteering puts the giver face-to-face with like-minded people who may eventually become clients – and a documented history of giving back can be an important differentiator.
An agent’s generosity, shared via website or social media, may have great appeal to buyers or sellers who are choosing someone to represent them.
“At the beginning of 2017, (my hubby and I) wanted to find a way to give back and donate to more charities, but we weren't quite sure what path to take or how to be held accountable," said Dana Roberts, an Irvine, California-based real estate agent of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage. "Then I heard about PinRaise! It was a perfect fit.”
The PinRaise “Agent With Heart™” program was started three years ago by CEO and former Realtor John Giaimo. It provides participating agents with marketing materials and extensive social media recognition in return for a sign-up fee.
Whether they serve in a soup kitchen, coach a youth sports team or donate to a worthwhile cause, few agents are giving back to their communities for the recognition value. But finding the right vehicle for your generosity can be a win-win situation, providing sorely needed help for those who need it while boosting your standing as a caring professional in the very market you serve.
