6 Tips to Spring Clean Like A Pro
As the weather starts to warm up, it’s a great time to open your windows, and your cleaning supplies cabinet, and start your spring cleaning! Don’t know where to start? These six helpful tips will have you spring cleaning like a pro.

Make a Schedule – Regardless of where you start, having a set plan to tackle each room will keep you focused on the task at hand. No matter how busy your schedule may be, setting time for your spring cleaning tasks will help you feel much better, especially once they’re done!

De-clutter – Studies have shown that a disorganized home adds to your stress level. The psychological stress of living in a cluttered home, or coming home to a pile of unsorted laundry after a hard day at work, can take a sudden, unexpected toll on your mental health and sanity. Taking time to organize your closets, and clean out your office and junk drawers, will eliminate unnecessary stress from your life.

Always Work from the Top Down – When spring cleaning your home, start at the ceiling and work your way down. This will force dust downward so you don’t need to dust your furniture or vacuum floors a second time. If you have a vacuum with a long extension hose, use it to get cobwebs and dust from ceilings and fans, then work your way down and dust your furniture and other items, then vacuum or mop the floors last.

Deep Clean Your Carpets – You’ll be surprised how much dirt, dust and pet hair builds up in your carpet. This can be especially bad in bedrooms and dining rooms where you’re less likely to move bulky furniture around when you clean. A deep clean will help restore the carpet’s color and texture. Whether you use a high-performance vacuum cleaner, or hire a carpet cleaning professional, a deep clean will breathe new life into your carpets and be a breath of fresh air in your home.

Walls and Windows Need Love too – People usually clean their floors, but typically forget about walls and windows. Most dust settles on the floor and other flat surfaces, but not all of it. Use a damp towel to wipe down walls and blinds (starting from the top). On the outside of your home, remove and wipe or hose down the screens. To clean the windows, use a steam cleaner on the glass, followed by a microfiber cloth or squeegee to dry them.

Clean Your Bathroom While You Sleep – Did you know that you can remove limescale stains from your toilet, shower and sink overnight using white vinegar? Just spray it on and let it work overnight. For showerheads, fill a bag with white vinegar and tie it around the head, then in the morning remove the bag and wipe down the showerhead. No more limescale!
