CB Connecticut/ Westchester Forms ?Team Colleen?
Walkathon to Support Children?s Cancer Reasearch Fund
Coldwell Banker Connecticut/ Westchester has announced it plans to form “Team Colleen” in support of the Children?s Cancer Research Fund (CCRF) of New York Medical College. Coldwell Banker?s Team Colleen will participate in CCRF?s upcoming Step by Step Run/Walk 2001, which will take place on Saturday, Oct. 13, at FDR Park in Yorktown Heights, New York.
The name “Team Colleen” comes from Colleen McGrath, the daughter of Brian McGrath, a sales associate in the Katonah, New York office of Coldwell Banker, and his wife Kathleen. Colleen, whose leukemia is now in remission, was treated at New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York.
“Our company recently formed a philanthropic committee, and the Children?s Cancer Research Fund is the first organization we have chosen to support. Coldwell Banker is planning to organize a very large and dedicated team to participate in the walkathon and to raise funds for this extremely important cause,” says Maryrose Furci, director of operations for Coldwell Banker Connecticut/ Westchester.
“Because New York Medical College is affiliated with Danbury Hospital and patients there benefit from support care provided by CCRF, we feel that we are helping out an organization that provides assistance in both of our service areas, Westchester and Connecticut,” Furci says.
In addition to Furci, other members of Coldwell Banker?s philanthropic committee include: Peggy Doepper, president and chief operating officer; Nicholas Germak, senior vice president; Ed Ferguson, manager of the Yorktown office; Richard Mishkin, manager of the Katonah office; Nancy MacDonald, manager of the Greenwich, Connecticut office; and Robert Morey, manager of the Danbury, Connecticut office.
For further information on joining Team Colleen, contact Furci at (800) 756-3660. The Children?s Cancer Research Fund can be reached at (800) 426-5413.
