RISMEDIA, August 6, 2007–Hispanic real estate professionals, business leaders and prominent lawmakers are expected to attend the 2007 Hispanic Marketing Convention & Expo hosted by the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals on September 16-19 at Walt Disney’s Contemporary Resort in Orlando. The three-day meeting will focus on the state of Hispanic homeownership, the effects of subprime mortgages on Latinos, ethics, and tips for practitioners that want to do business in the growing Hispanic market.
For more information about the event or to register, go to http://www.2007hispanicmarketingconvention.com.
NAHREP’s Hispanic-themed convention is the premier industry event on this minority segment and attracts practitioners and the nation’s leading emerging markets experts to its workshops, town-hall meetings and trade expo. Top of mind for all concerned is how to gear goods and services to the diverse melting pot of Latin cultures that has culturally-influenced traits and a strong desire for homeownership.
“Hispanics will be THE driving force of the first-time homebuyer and move-up markets,” said NAHREP Chairman Felix DeHerrera. “As an industry, we’ve made progress, but we still have a ways to go in creating programs, products and services that work well for the two million Latin consumers expected to buy homes in the near term.”
Among the highlights for the meetings:
Expectations for the Industry’s Future and Implications for the Hispanic Market (Monday September 17, 8:00-10:00 am)– An open dialog among corporate and industry housing leaders on the future of real estate & the implications for Hispanic consumers. Guests will include Realogy President & CEO Alex Perillo; Mortgage Banker’s Association Chairman John Robbins; Keller Williams President Joe Williams; Bank of America President of Consumer Real Estate, Floyd Robinson; and PMI Chairman David Katko
Credit Scoring Alternatives (Monday, Sept. 17, 10:15-11:15 am) — a dialog on the challenges of the industry’s current credit scoring model, the way it penalizes Hispanic home buyers for culturally influenced, debt-averse traits; and the market potential if a new system was adopted. Participants include Alyssa Lee of the Brookings Institute, First American’s Lionel Savage, and Vantage Score CEO Barrett Burns.
Lending Products for Sustainable Homeownership (Monday, Sept 17 11:15 am-12: 15 pm) – The subprime mortgage fallout proved that not all loans are appropriate to homeowners’ long-term goals. This session led by Freddie Mac VP Craig Nickerson will focus on the type of programs best suited to Hispanic home buyers, and will include product experts from Bank of America, Countrywide, Chase, and Wells Fargo Home Mortgage.
“Abundance in Life and Business In ANY Market!” (Tuesday, September 18 12:30pm -2:00pm)—This inspiring session led by the Hispanic communities own Danny Morel will provide tools to practitioners interested in growing their business.
The Hispanic Marketing Convention and Expo is the real estate industry’s premier event for real estate professionals who work closely with the Latino community or want to learn to work with Hispanic homebuyers. Cost to attend is $350 for members and $400 for non-members. Membership is NOT required nor is the event limited to real estate professionals of Hispanic descent.
The National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals, a non-profit 501c6 trade association, is dedicated to increasing the homeownership rate among Latinos by educating and empowering the real estate professionals that serve them. Based in Washington D.C., NAHREP is the premier trade organization for Hispanics and has nearly 15,000 members in 48 states and 56 affiliate chapters.
