RISMEDIA, April 11, 2008-Over the past two years, the real estate profession has had to make many adjustments due to economic conditions. Given the climate, it’s an excellent opportunity to look at adopting or incorporating new procedures and technology enhancements.
Although it may seem illogical to consider spending time or funds now, an operational audit of sorts may disclose areas where additional revenue may be saved or new systems put in place that will allow you to capitalize on new or improved technology. Auto-responding systems that make sure lead calls or e-mail inquiries receive a timely response, and systems to track and push forward the assigned individual’s response are vital. These systems assist in ensuring that companies are responding to leads. They also assist in reviewing individual productivity and responsiveness.
Incorporating an electronic transaction management system now could also result in significant savings in the future. These systems allow the entire transaction file to be maintained electronically and portions shared with other service providers as needed or appropriate. These systems also allow the consumer to track their progress online from wherever they may be.
As we wrote last month, the importance of your Web presence continues to grow astronomically each year. This would also be a good time to consider your presence in electronic social networks. MySpace.com and Facebook.com are not just for kids. You can set up a blog at little or no cost through Realtown.com or Realtor.com.
Taking the time now will prepare yourself and your firm for future success.
