RISMEDIA, April 28, 2008-The 18th Annual Recruiting Network Conference was held in Scottsdale, Arizona last week with participants attending from across the United States and Canada. During the conference, Joe Dabbs, vice president of Operations for GMAC Metrobrokers presented Carol Johnson with the Life Achievement Award for her contribution to the origination and continual development of the discipline now recognized as Real Estate Recruiting.
After the 1983 ruling by the National Association of Realtors to abolish the bylaw restricting competing brokers from recruiting other agents and brokers, Carol Johnson subsequently became one of the first individuals responsible for starting the “Recruiting Revolution in Real Estate.”
Dabbs said, “Carol’s contributions to recruiting has allowed this functional area to not only increase in respectability and credibility, but evolve and develop into a systematic process oriented function with developing accountability measures.”
The recruiting conference served as a think-tank with very notable speakers and industry innovators discussing the evolving world of real estate recruitment. Some of the key areas discussed during the session included Mergers and Acquisitions, the Back to Basics Approach to Recruiting, Generation Y Recruitment, Employment Branding, Hiring and Selection Practices and a host of other relevant topics. During the conference, the Recruiter of Year Award was presented to Terry Towndrow for the extraordinary results achieved by his team at Coldwell Banker Legacy.
