RISMEDIA, June 9, 2008-Compass Internet Systems, the leading provider of REAL SEOTM and Online Marketing Services for Realtors® announced record highs in traffic to client websites from Internet Buyers in the month of May. A total of 3,128,000 of Compass clients’ pages were viewed and 1,421,818 unique visitors found CompassSearch clients’ sites.
“It is numbers like these that show the vitality of individual websites as vehicles to sell real estate as opposed to portals,” Sean Hogan, COO of Compass Internet stated. “We constantly see website companies and portals touting their ‘high traffic’ by reporting less than even a half million page views as a great achievement, among a client base of many thousands, yet the facts are that our small network of about 1,000 clients vastly outdraw the majority of portals and aggregation sites in terms of both Unique Visitors and Page Views.”
“However,” Hogan continued, “this illustrates how wrongly focused the entire industry can be about statistics. The fact is that it isn’t page views or even unique visitors that matter (provided one reaches a reasonable base threshold monthly), but it’s the conversion of those visits to soft leads and hard leads that matters-and our clients consistently achieve 10% or more conversion factor from visitors to leads. That is why we emphasize visitor conversion so strongly to our clients in their monthly coaching sessions: Visitors who don’t last are like opportunities we have all missed; there’s no point in rehashing what we could have done about anything. Our position is that if that visitor isn’t converted to a lead, there was no benefit to the visit, so why emphasize it?”
“We think that this is an early indicator of an increase in buying activity,” Hogan concluded, “and we wanted the marketplace to know that not all news is bad news. Our network Internet traffic is up and that means more buyers are returning online.”
