‘HAR.com’ Ranks among Most Popular Real Estate-Related Online Search Terms

RISMEDIA, July 14, 2008-The Houston Association of Realtors® website, HAR.com, is among the top 30 online search terms for Internet users seeking real estate-related information, according to Web metrics company Hitwise. In its report of Web traffic for the four weeks ending June 28, 2008 within the ‘Business and Finance - Real Estate industry,’ Hitwise ranked “HAR.com” 27th in the U.S. out of a total of 45,860 search terms.

“This ranking is the result of strong, effective branding that extends throughout the Houston market and across the U.S.,” said HAR Chairman Michael Levitin of HTownRealty.com. “Through a targeted marketing campaign that includes print advertising, outdoor, radio, television and, more recently, online banner ads, HAR.com is recognized and respected as one of the leading real estate resources, providing comprehensive, user-friendly services to consumers and Realtors alike.”

Throughout 2008, HAR.com has averaged nearly 1.5 billion hits each month. The site, launched in 1997, boasts more than one million unique users monthly, solidifying its reputation as the go-to online resource for would-be home buyers and sellers. While HAR.com is largely a local site, data shows increasing usage from outside the Houston market. The number of international property listings on the site has also grown. HAR.com has won numerous awards, including Outstanding Website honors from the National Association of Realtors.
