RISMEDIA, July 30, 2008-(MCT)-If you want to, need to or are being forced to make a big life change, it’s probably a good time to “SHED.” This four-step “clean-up” program helps you release attachments to obsolete items and time-wasting habits and move forward to a richer, more fulfilling life.

1. SHED stands for: Separate the treasures, Heave the trash, Embrace your identity and Drive yourself forward.

2. If you feel that a better future is possible but aren’t sure what it is, or if what you want seems out of reach, or if you feel weighed down by old habits, obligations and stuff, it’s time to SHED.

3. A life theme or vision will organize your thoughts and actions and pave the way for your SHED program. Common life themes include: connection, creativity, developing wisdom, health or adventure.

4. Five habits that clutter our lives are: mindless escapes (like television), procrastination, perfectionism, chronic lateness and workaholism. Heave these habits to make room for your theme/vision of the future.

5. “By releasing the defunct, extraneous and burdensome objects and obligations that are weighing you down, you create the space to discover what’s next and gather the energy and courage to move forward.”
