MRIS, Sept. 8, 2008-On September 2nd, 2008, Google made its new browser, Chrome, available for public beta. There has been a lot of news coverage of Chrome and what people like and don’t like about it. In fact, a survey in a New York Daily News article about Chrome shows that as of noon on September 3rd, 2008, 65% of people who responded to the poll intend to use Chrome as their main web browser.
The majority of news articles about Chrome call it Google’s new web browser, and don’t mention the fact that Chrome is still in beta and is not a completed product (you can easily miss the “BETA” in the Google Chrome logo since it’s in light gray text). The beta testing phase of development allows users to provide feedback so that bugs and problems found by beta testers can be reported and fixed. TechCrunch is already compiling a list of bugs and problems with Chrome.
The official Google Blog states:
“This is just the beginning — Google Chrome is far from done. We’re releasing this beta for Windows to start the broader discussion and hear from you as quickly as possible.”
So far, we have done some basic testing of mris.com, Matrix, Keystone, Homesdatabase.com and ActiveAgent with Chrome:
• Virtual Earth maps in Matrix don’t work.
• Keystone: yes, but not KPU - Chrome says javascript is required, but still doesn’t work once you install javascript
• Homesdatabase/ActiveAgent - so far seems to work fine
• Mris.com - flash plugin required to view some portions of the page such as animated banners and Mr. Is comicBeta products can be fun to play with, but frequently undergo changes to fix reported bugs, and what works one day may not work later, so there is no guarantee as to how MRIS products will function with Chrome.

RISMEDIA, Dec. 5, 2008-As homeowners and home buyers struggle through today’s tumultuous housing market, government support for the mortgage market is needed, now more than ever, to take the lead in stabilizing the turbulence of this market.
