RISMEDIA, Jan. 15, 2007-RE/MAX of New England officially announced the promotion of Jay Hummer to Executive Vice President and Regional Director. Hummer has served as Interim Regional Director since May 2006.

"It is with great pleasure that I officially announce Jay Hummer as Executive Vice President and Regional Director of RE/MAX of New England," said Pamela Alexander Managing Director, North American Operations. "Jay has been instrumental in the growth of our company over the past 11 years. He brings an enormous amount of talent and experience and I'm confident that Jay has the ability to take RE/MAX of New England to new heights."

Hummer has 22 years of experience in the real estate franchise industry, beginning his career in New York City in 1984 as a franchise salesman with Century 21 Real Estate. He then moved to Prudential Real Estate in Philadelphia where he oversaw franchise sales in the Mid Atlantic and North East regions. Hummer then served as Senior Franchise Sales Analyst for Coldwell Banker Residential Affiliates. While at Coldwell Banker, Hummer was instrumental in the Canada Trust conversion in Toronto, Canada in 1993. Hummer came to RE/MAX of New England in 1995 where he held the position of Vice President of Franchise Sales. Beginning in 1998, Hummer's responsibilities expanded to include training regional owners with RE/MAX Europe how to grow their franchise business in over 30 countries. He was then appointed Interim Regional Director in May 2006. As Executive Vice President and Regional Director, Hummer will oversee 295 offices and 4,000 sales associates throughout Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont.

A native of Connecticut, Hummer is a strong supporter of the Children's Miracle Network and the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
