RISMEDIA, Feb. 14, 2007-NRT, one of the nation's largest residential real estate brokerage companies, announced that real estate veteran Malcolm MacEwen has been appointed president and chief operating officer of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Arizona. MacEwen most recently served as regional vice president overseeing the Desert Region for Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Greater Los Angles/Orange County. MacEwen replaces Bill Jilbert, who has been named chairman of the company. In his new role, he will work closely with MacEwen to oversee more than 2,000 sales associates in 37 offices.
"Malcolm MacEwen has spent more than 30 years in real estate sales and management focused on superior customer and community service," said Jeff Culbertson, senior vice president for the Southwest and Sacramento region of NRT. "He is a proven leader with a wide range of experience including senior positions with NRT and serving as branch manager of one of our leading offices in Beverly Hills, Calif. In addition, he has strong family ties in Arizona."
MacEwen owned his own real estate brokerage firm for several years and later served as a vice president and regional manager in Southern California for both the Jon Douglas Company and Fred Sands Realtors before that firm was acquired by Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in 2000. A former director of the California Association of Realtors, he was named to NRT's President's Council in 2003 and 2004, an honor given to managers of the most productive branch offices in the country. A dedicated outdoorsman, his family owned cattle ranches in Arizona and currently maintains acreage in the state.
To replace MacEwen in California, NRT announced the appointment of Ron Gerlich as regional vice president for the Desert Region. The Desert Region will now become part of NRT's Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage company in San Diego/Inland Empire under the direction of President Rick Hoffman.
