RISMEDIA, March 28, 2007-Realty World® Northern California and Northern Nevada, Inc. announced it has signed a franchise agreement with respected Silicon Valley broker and Intero Real Estate Services Founding Executive Terry Meyer.
A 22-year veteran agent, broker and executive, Meyer started his career as an agent and branch manager with Century 21 Seville-Contempo Realty in San Jose, where he rose to executive vice president. Later, he managed 120 agents and staff at two San Jose Coldwell Banker offices before helping found Intero in 2002.
"We're absolutely thrilled to welcome a professional of Terry Meyer's caliber," says Scott LeForce, president and chief executive officer of Realty World Northern California and Northern Nevada, Inc. "Terry is a prime example of the kind of brokers who leave an established brokerage because they are tired of subsidizing the cost of large brick and mortar offices that are visually impressive but don't directly help them sell real estate. By contrast, we offer a low-cost, predictable business model that provides the technology tools and marketing resources to be successful without all the per-transaction and extra fees that eat away at a real estate professional's income. That's key in today's market."
"Creating an entirely new operation from scratch is a tremendously exciting proposition," says Meyer. "I learned a great deal from my time at Intero and am proud to have been a part of building that organization. However, as it grew in size and its focus evolved toward a more traditional franchise model, I felt my enthusiasm and passion were better suited to a different kind of venture with a different kind of organization."
Meyer will open his first Realty World of Silicon Valley office April 1 at 1401 The Alameda in San Jose. His goal is to attract experienced, technology-savvy agents looking to leverage the latest paperless technology processes and mobile technology tools to deliver a better real estate experience to their clients. His point of differentiation includes offices that will consist of small, fully technology-enabled conference spaces available to any agent when a private office environment is required.
"Realty World Northern California has pioneered the adoption of mobile technologies that allow agents to serve their clients from whatever location is most convenient – whether it's accessing the latest listings from a coffee shop using a PDA or filling out and signing a purchase agreement right on the screen of a tablet PC," Meyer says. "Realty World of Silicon Valley will set the standard for an entirely new kind of real estate office that meets the needs of agents and their clients without the high overhead costs of a conventional brokerage."
Meyer joins a network of 470 independently owned and operated Realty World -branded offices and more than 1,700 agents serving Californians from Inyo County north to the Oregon border. Of that number, 170 offices are in the Silicon Valley.
