RISMEDIA, May 7, 2007-The Florida Association of Realtors'(R) (FAR) new member Web site took top honors nationally in the "2007 Outstanding Realtor Association Web Site Contest," sponsored by the National Association of Realtors(R) (NAR) and Realtor(R) Association Executive Magazine.
FAR's new member Web site, http://www.floridarealtors.org, won in the outstanding design category.
"The FAR site is an amazing tool for Realtors," the judges said. "From the opening page, FAR is serving the membership with the tools they need to be successful. From the menu bar to the search bar, I found everything I was looking for without having to 'look.'"
In commending the association's Web site for its visual design and content placement, judges also noted that FAR successfully communicated the Realtor brand of professionalism, ethics and trust throughout the site.
"Depicting our organization and its members in a professional manner to our viewing audience was a huge priority when designing the site," said Peggy Musial, managing editor for the site. "The goal was to create a magazine look, use images that our members could identify with, and use a color palette of orange, green, and blue that shouts out 'Florida.'"
"We are very proud that FAR won in the outstanding design category," said FAR Executive Vice President John Fridlington. "Kudos to the many FAR Management Team members who worked on the new Web site for an outstanding job!"
"The Florida Realtor family continues to lead the way with online applications awards," Fridlington added, noting that another Florida Realtor association, the Pinellas Realtor Organization, took top honors in the outstanding e-newsletter or e-publication category. "Overall, the Realtor associations around the country have really raised the bar over the
past few years. It's great when that's recognized," Fridlington said.
According to NAR, this year's competition highlighted great features of Realtor association Web sites nationwide and is a reminder of just what a powerful tool the Internet is for serving members.
