RISMEDIA, Sept. 18, 2007-Prudential Georgia Realty’s 3rd Annual Ticket to Ride Horse Shows, held July 27-29th at Wills Park Equestrian Center in Alpharetta, was another huge success. Each year, the three Prudential real estate offices in Cumming, Dahlonega and Dawsonville, all led by Managing Broker Robert Aiken, have put on this annual horse show series to benefit the Sunshine Kids Foundation. This organization assists children with cancer.
In 2005, the first year of the event, Aiken and his real estate team raised more than $25,000. Last year, the net proceeds to the childrens’ cause were $42,000. The group raised the bar again this year, setting a new fund-raising record of $56,000 for the Sunshine Kids Foundation.
“I am pleased we were able to raise so much money for this worthwhile and needed organization,” said Robert Aiken. “And I am amazed and impressed every year by all the planning, hard work and dedication my sales teams put in to successfully pull off this massive event.”
For the second straight year, the Ticket to Ride event was helped by local resident and
celebrity comedian Jeff Foxworthy serving as the event’s official spokesperson. Foxworthy recorded radio promotion spots to publicize the event and donated several items to the silent auction held as part of the Ticket to Ride show.
The three-day event included a catered dinner one evening by LongHorn
Steakhouse, a Hunter/Jumper Relay and numerous class competitions. To learn more about the Ticket to Ride Horse Shows, held in Alpharetta a the Wills Park Equestrian Center, visit http://www.400north.prudentialgeorgia.com or www.tickettoridehorseshows.com.
Some form of cancer affects, on average, more than 12,000 children in the United States
each year. Cancer is still the leading cause of death by disease in children under 15. The goal of the Sunshine Kids Foundation is to help families deal with this disease and to help these children have a quality of life by providing them with positive group activities and outings so they can do what kids are supposed to do—have fun and celebrate life. The Sunshine Kids Foundation is the official charity of Prudential Real Estate Affiliates.
Prudential Georgia Realty was named one of the top five highest affiliate contributors for 2006, out of more than 600 Prudential affiliates, when the 25-branch metro Atlanta real estate firm raised more than $160,000 for Sunshine Kids last year through numerous regional fund-raising events. The firm is on track to match or beat this fund-raising total for 2007.
