MRIS, Oct. 1, 2007-Are you confused about the difference between General (Agent) Remarks and Internet Remarks? General Remarks appear on agent displays and printouts while the Internet (Public) Remarks appear on customer Web sites and printouts.
General Remarks are used to convey information for real estate agents, such as special showing instructions or commission. Internet Remarks are used to convey information to the public. Internet Remarks are limited to the description of the property, and should never include references to commissions, showing contacts, agent or broker names, phone or fax numbers, Web site or e-mail addresses, virtual tours, alarm codes, lockbox codes or other security measures.
For more information on the difference between Internet and General Remarks refer to Article XI, Section 18 of the MRIS Rules and Regulations. The MRIS Compliance Department can and does assess fines for repeated instances of non-compliance.
