MRIS, Oct. 8, 2007-MRIS President and CEO, David Charron, has been named one of the 100 Most Influential Real Estate Leaders by Inman News, one of the industry’s top trade publications. Charron was recognized for his keen insight into the major MLS issues. Inman editor, Jessica Swesey, tells MRIS that Charron has distinguished himself as a frequently cited authority on MLS cooperation at the regional level.
Charron has been quoted in a wide array of media-on the radio, in the Washington Post, the Washington Business Journal, LORE Magazine, Inman, and RISMedia, among many others. He is cited, in particular, for his belief that technological standards are vital to fostering widespread cooperation:
“Technology standards adoption by all players is the most critical opportunity we have to make sure we provide accurate and consistent information to those authorized to have it. The Real Estate Transaction Standard (RETS) does not dictate which data an MLS collects but rather provides a method of identifying the data that exists, how it can be received and the best means of transporting it. The very characteristic that defines our customer (the broker) is cooperation. Adoption of this standard by all technology providers enables us to mirror this level of cooperation as well.”
