RISMEDIA, March 10, 2008-Dale Earnhardt, Jr., NASCAR’s five-time most popular driver, is the first buyer of a new upscale condominium near Talladega Superspeedway, site of five of his 17 of NASCAR Sprint Cup victories.
Located one mile from the entrance to the Talladega Superspeedway, the Legacy Condominiums at Talladega are being marketed to corporate sponsors, race teams, drivers, and die-hard NASCAR fans.
“I am excited to be the first purchaser of a Legacy Condominium at Talladega,” says Earnhardt, Jr., driver of the No. 88 AMP Energy/National Guard Chevrolets for Hendrick Motorsports. “I enjoy coming to Talladega. It’s one of my favorite race tracks, because we’ve had so much success there. I love the area, and I love the fans there. I look forward to enjoying the place and all it has to offer.”
The condos offer a place to relax and refresh before and after races. They come complete with custom cabinetry, granite countertops, plush carpet flooring, stainless steel appliances as well as private balconies. A unique networking opportunity is offered because of buyers who will undoubtedly follow in Earnhardt Jr.’s lead.
“It is rare to have a NASCAR superstar living next door,” says Lori G. McDowell of RE/MAX United. She says it’s fitting for him to be the first buyer.
“Earnhardt, Jr. is in the lead on the racetrack so it makes sense for him to be ahead of the curve here too,” she says.
McDowell says the condos offer buyers an opportunity to be a part of a “legacy.” Luxury Suites start in the low $300,000s and penthouses in the low $500,000s, although exclusive pre-sale offers are being offered. The Legacy Condominiums are in a gated community, offer four unique buildings, golf cart charging stations, two in-ground pools and on-site security during races.
“Our family is built on the legacy of those before us, so being involved with the Legacy Condominiums at Talladega is a natural,” says Kelley Earnhardt Elledge, vice president and General Manager of JR Motorsports. “We look forward to having a relaxing place to stay while in the Talladega area.”
Exclusive presale prices are only being offered until the grand opening, an invitation only event, which will be held on Thursday April 24, from 1-5pm. At this time only phase 1 (two out of four buildings), will be complete. Earnhardt Jr. will not be attending the event.
“The Legacy Condominiums will provide NASCAR drivers with a home away from home,” says McDowell.
