RISMEDIA, June 9, 2008-The Law of Attraction is based on the idea that in order to become magnetic for the prosperity you desire, you need to be radiating out positive energy because positive energy attracts positive energy. This week, Dr. Maya offers advice for those who may think they’re doing all that’s necessary in the Law of Attraction, while overlooking the obvious.

crw_0129crop.jpgQ. Dr. Maya: Even though I practice the Law of Attraction on a regular basis, I’m not getting results. What do you think I’m missing?

A. You could be sabotaging the Law of Attraction. While it’s understood that you need to be radiating out positive energy to attract positive energy, most people don’t realize that positive energy begins within yourself.

Do you ever find yourself:

– criticizing yourself?
– putting yourself down?
– being hard and yourself?

… then there is a very good chance that the Law of Attraction is not working for you.

However there are some things you can do to change your energy and develop your own self acceptance and self respect. Then you will be radiating out the kind of energy that is magnetic to prosperity.

Here are some tips to get you started:

1. Never criticize yourself

2. Never compare yourself to others

3. Never speak yourself in a negative way

Here’s what to do instead:

1. Always encourage yourself with positive self talk, such as “Good job”
or “I am really proud of you for….”

2. Find things to praise in yourself often. Choose even those small actions that you would ordinarily overlook.

3. Always strive to “do your best” and realize that your best changes from day to day. Avoid the idea of perfection, it’s only a trap.

Remember, to effectively practice the Law of Attraction, there is no room for “self criticism.”
