RISMEDIA, April 21, 2010—The Distressed Property Institute, LLC recently released a video tutorial for homeowners, explaining the new short sale and deed-in-lieu processes created by the Home Affordable Foreclosure Alternatives Program (HAFA). “What in the World is HAFA” incorporates the timelines, benefits, incentives and best practices outlined by the new program released by Making Home Affordable (MHA) on April 5, 2010.
“HAFA is a giant step in the right direction to help the millions of U.S. distressed homeowners currently looking for options,” Alex Charfen, co-founder and CEO of the Institute, said. “But in order for it to be as effective as possible, the homeowners who potentially qualify first need to know about the program, as well as understand its benefits. This is what we hope to accomplish with our educational video.”
On April 6, the Institute broadcast its live real estate industry alert “HAFA Decoded” to an estimated audience of 10,000 real estate professionals. In addition, the Institute created Understanding HAFA (www.cdpe.com/hafa), a free resource to agents and homeowners with all available information on the program, as well as answers to common questions.
“Knowing the importance of this program and its potential benefits to homeowners, it has been our goal to become the leader in HAFA training and information,” Charfen said.
The HAFA program will aid homeowners in avoiding foreclosure through a short sale or deed-in-lieu of foreclosure by providing financial incentives to lenders and homeowners, and enforcing timelines on every step of the process.
