RISMEDIA, July 12, 2010—Prudential Florida Realty, Florida Real Estate Services launched a new website, www.sunshinekidsartauction.com, to raise money for the Sunshine Kids Foundation by auctioning art masterpieces by Cuban and Latin American Masters. The website features a digital photo of the art work, a history of the artist and the assessment of style and value. One hundred percent of the proceeds from the sales will benefit the Sunshine Kids.
Since 2001, Prudential Florida Realty, Florida Real Estate Services Sales Associates, Support and Leadership Team has been an official fund-raiser for the Sunshine Kids and have been recognized as the # 1 contributor in North America and the # 1 contributor in Florida for raising over $1,750,000 for the Sunshine Kids Foundation.
A special recognition to Amanda Mesa, the South Florida Junior Ambassador for the Sunshine Kids and Founder and Chairperson of the American Heritage School Sunshine Kids Chapter, for taking the initiative and collaborating with area art collectors to provide this opportunity to combine local culture and philanthropy.
“I’ve grown up around Cuban and Latin American art. Living in Miami, I remember visiting galleries with my parents and meeting the artists who regularly stopped by my grandparents’ house to reminisce while sipping Cuban coffee. I was thrilled at the opportunity to combine two of my great passions–Art and The Sunshine Kids,” commented Amanda Mesa.
“We are excited to include the art world in our fund raising efforts for the Sunshine Kids. Our Family of Services which includes Prudential Florida Realty, Florida Home Finance Group an Affiliate of Wells Fargo, Florida Title & Guarantee, Florida Home and General Lines Insurance and our Business Partners, have set an aggressive goal to raise over $250,000 for Kids in 2010,” said Rei L. Mesa, President & CEO Prudential Florida Realty, Florida Real Estate Services. “With the aid of the new site, and our network’s help and generosity, I’m confident we can achieve and perhaps exceed this amount.”
“We look forward to the day when The Sunshine Kids Foundation will no longer need to exist. Until that time, the entire Sunshine Kids family is dedicated to providing the most exciting activities, trips and events for as many young cancer patients as possible,” said G.W. Bailey, Executive Director, Sunshine Kids Foundation and famed actor.
The Sunshine Kids is a non-profit organization dedicated to children with cancer.
