RISMEDIA, November 8, 2010—Pleasanton-based Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Mason-McDuffie announces that Berkeley-based Keller Williams Realty Bay Area will join its network, effective immediately. Keller Williams Realty Bay Area has been serving clients in Berkeley since 2004 and will bring 85 agents to the Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Mason-McDuffie network. The announcement follows Mason-McDuffie’s transition to Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate on September 29th.
Ed Krafchow, chairman of the board of Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Mason-McDuffie, commented, “Keller Williams is one of the great organizations in the real estate industry. There is much to learn from the culture of collaboration and partnership that they have built their organization upon. I am excited about the opportunity to grow a great company of talented agents and leaders such as Matt Cord.”
Matt Cord, Manager of Keller Williams’ Berkeley office, will take over the day-to-day operations of the Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Mason-McDuffie Berkeley and Claremont offices as Regional Manager. “We are thrilled to become part of the historic Mason-McDuffie brand, and to be able to offer our agents the most sophisticated tools available in the industry to build their business.”
Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Mason-McDuffie operates 36 offices in Northern California and the Reno, NV area, with 1,900 agents.
“This acquisition is significant in our company’s history, both in its size and the caliber of the agents we are bringing into the company. This will provide our region with significant growth in one of our key markets, and the ability to provide an even better level of service to our east bay clients,” added Krafchow.
The merging of the Berkeley offices of both companies makes Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Mason-McDuffie the number one brokerage in Berkeley, based on MLS data.
With a sales volume of $2.8 billion in 2009, Mason-McDuffie ranked among the Top 20 real estate brokerages nationally according to REAL Trends, and also handled over 7,600 real estate transaction sides last year, which ranked among the Top 50 nationally.
