RISMEDIA, November 12, 2010—Thousands of dollars in down-payment assistance funds are unused in communities around the nation, mostly due to lack of awareness about these programs. Eligible home buyers can benefit from federal, state and local grants if they know what’s available in their market.
HUD official Lorraine Griscavage-Frisbee, Sergio Barajas of the National Community Stabilization Trust, and real estate broker Gail Buck dispel myths and offer tips on how to use programs in your area on the November 16 show of NAHREP Radio. The show is broadcast live at 9 a.m. PST/11 a.m. CST/Noon EST on alternating Tuesdays at http://www.blogtalkradio.com/nahrep and is also available on demand.
“New buyers can benefit from thousands in down-payment assistance if they qualify for the programs,” said NAHREP Chair Alex Chaparro. “In many instances, real estate professionals in local markets are unaware of the programs and how to work with nonprofits to get funding for their buyers. There’s also some misperceptions about the types of buyers these programs can help, so many of these grants are going unused.”
The Voice of Hispanic Real Estate is an Internet talk radio program produced by the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals, a non-profit trade association with more than 18,000 members in 48 states and 50 affiliate chapters.
