RISMEDIA, May 16, 2011—Realogy Corporation, a global provider of real estate and relocation services, has reported that $5.3 million was donated to numerous charities in 2010 due to the fundraising efforts by Realogy employees and independent sales associates as well as members of Realogy’s real estate franchise brand networks.
“I am sincerely proud that in the midst of a challenging real estate market in 2010, our employees and independent sales associates, as well as our franchisees and their affiliated sales professionals, were able to maintain their commitment to serving their local communities by giving so much of their time, talents and treasure to charitable organizations in need of assistance,” says Richard A. Smith, president and CEO, Realogy Corporation.
Specifically, Realogy’s franchise brands, through the collective fundraising efforts of their employees, franchisees, brokers and sales professionals, facilitated the donation of $2.9 million to a wide range of charities, and Cartus—Realogy’s relocation services subsidiary—raised $256,000 through employee contributions that were donated directly to the United Way.
In addition, the Realogy Charitable Foundation contributed $2.1 million to 769 different charities in 2010, after Realogy’s employees and independent sales associates worked tirelessly to raise funds for important causes. Since the Foundation’s inception in 2004, it has distributed more than $16 million in donations to more than 1,900 charities.
The American Cancer Society, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Easter Seals, Habitat for Humanity, Muscular Dystrophy Association and the United Way were among the many organizations that received donations in 2010.
The Realogy Charitable Foundation, a not-for-profit corporation that is a charitable foundation under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, operates through a network of local chapters across the nation to coordinate the philanthropy of Realogy employees as well as the independent sales associates affiliated with Realogy and its brands.
