RE/MAX LLC and RISMedia honored long-time industry coach and educator, David Knox, with the fifth annual “On the Shoulders of Giants” award during “Power Broker Weekend,” at RISMedia’s 16th Annual Power Broker Dinner held in Anaheim, California last week. The award was created to recognize those individuals whose efforts, works, deeds and character exemplify superior achievements in and for the real estate industry.
Margaret Kelly, CEO of RE/MAX LLC, presented Knox with the award during the RISMedia event at the Anaheim Marriott. The Power Broker Dinner honors the industry’s top brokers, as determined by the results of RISMedia’s annual Power Broker Report & Survey.
Knox is the fifth recipient of this award. Past winners include: Howard Brinton, Founder of STARPower Systems; Nina Cottrell, CEO of the Council of Residential Specialists (CRS); Craig Proctor, Founder of Craig Proctor Productions; and Brian Buffini, Chairman & Founder of Buffini & Company. The award is now an annual recognition by RISMedia and RE/MAX of those individuals whose dedication and contributions to the real estate industry often go unrecognized.
David Knox started selling residential real estate in 1972 for a small company and grew to become a top-selling agent over the years. In 1976 he was asked to build and head a major training division for his then real estate firm. In 1979, he was accepted into the cadre of CRS instructors for the Realtors National Marketing Institute.
In 1983, Knox became National Training Director for Merrill Lynch Realty Associates, (MLRA) of Stamford, Connecticut, where he was responsible for the training of the 15,000 salespeople in the firm’s 33 national operating units. Knox launched his own training company, David Knox Productions, in 1987. Today, he has built an international reputation as a top sales trainer and keynote speaker, presenting his seminars to more than 20,000 sales people a year in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.
