Women in Relocation, a New York City-based national organization of relocation professionals, held its Annual Spring Event on Tuesday, April 9 at Brown Harris Stevens’ flagship office on Park Avenue in New York City. This event is held with the sole purpose of deciding which group they will assist. After much discussion and scrutiny of all candidates, Women in Relocation decided to support The Bridge Fund of Westchester and New York again this year. For the first time, the group is additionally pledging support to Shelter our Sisters.
“These two organizations, though very different, epitomize our commitment to help provide solutions in local communities and as a result our vote was unanimous,” says Silvana Malpelli, the group’s founder.
Christine Haney, a member of Women in Relocation and a Vice President of Global Relocation and Referral Services for Prudential Douglas Elliman adds, “Women in Relocation continue to be a group I am passionate about because our initiatives reflect our mission of giving back. Not only will I personally continue to support this group, but NYCorp, a regional relocation group that I am co-president of will also continue to support the group’s efforts.”
Women in Relocation will hold a Fall Event in September, which will also serve as an accessory fundraiser for Dress for Success, who have aligned themselves with the group since its inception. The year will culminate with the Annual Holiday Luncheon and Silent Auction where all proceeds and donations will be given to both organizations.
