Prudential California Realty agents and employees, together with Traditional Escrow, Inc. donated over 500 backpacks during Prudential’s Second Annual Backpack Challenge. The backpacks were filled with school supplies and personal care items for at-risk children in the foster care system ranging from infants to 24 years old. All items were donated to Olive Crest Orange County and to Aspiranet Foster Care Centers in Orange and San Bernardino. Prudential California Realty offices in Anaheim Hills, Brea, Corona, Rancho Cucamonga, Riverside, Yorba Linda and the South Bay participated in the Challenge.
At-risk youth and children in the foster care system often must leave all their possessions behind and the goal of the Backpack Challenge is to help ease their difficult transitions and to provide the children with something of their own. The program has extended its reach by including older children who are “aging out” of the foster care system and children living in homeless shelters.
Prudential California Realty agents and employees also provided monetary donations, which were matched by Traditional Escrow, Inc. and used to purchase more backpacks at a discount from CM school supply in Anaheim. Last Year, Prudential donated more than 300 backpacks and surpassed this year’s goal of 500. “I’m proud of that our employees and agents came together for another successful Backpack Challenge. Helping children in need such a great cause and we are thrilled that we can support them in starting off a great school year this fall,” said Prudential Owner Rich Cosner.
In addition to donating thousands of employee volunteer hours each year, Prudential supports a wide variety of non-profit programs benefiting local communities around the world. For more information, please contact Maria Hill at the corporate office at (714) 279-3860 or Maria.Hill@mailpcr.com.
