Better Homes and Gardens RealEstate LLC announced recently that the independently owned and operated residential real estate brokerage firm formerly known as Prudential Kansas City Realty has now joined the Better Homes and Gardens® Real Estate franchise network. Led by its president and CEO David Cooper, the company will now do business as Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Kansas City Homes and is the brand’s first franchisee in the state of Kansas. Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate LLC is a subsidiary of Realogy Holdings Corp. (NYSE: RLGY), a global leader in real estate franchising and related services.
“We are thrilled to welcome David Cooper and his entire team of professionals into our franchise network,” says Sherry Chris, president and CEO of Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate LLC. “With the decision to affiliate their business with Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate, David Cooper and the firm’s ownership group have given a strong affirmation of the value our brand delivers in the consumer marketplace. We are pleased to expand our brand presence into Kansas City, a flagship market in the Midwest. This is another significant franchise growth milestone for the Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate brand network.”
Including this announcement, Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate has signed 15 companies to its domestic network in 2012, bringing the overall size of the franchise system to 258 offices, 44 companies and approximately 8,350 sales associates.
Since its inception in 2004, Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Kansas City Homes has grown to encompass six offices and more than 425 agents serving the greater Kansas City market. Two branch offices are located in Kansas City, Missouri. Four offices are in Kansas, including two in Overland Park, one in Leawood, and one in Prairie Village. The company’s corporate office is in Overland Park.
“We had the natural opportunity to assess what was best for the future of our company as changes were occurring in our previous franchise organization,” says Cooper, who manages the firm’s day-to-day operations and represents an ownership group of seven individuals, who collectively have more than 175 years of real estate experience. “Out of all the many options that we had to choose from, it was clear to us that adding the power of the well-established Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate name and franchise network was the best long-term move for our company, our agents and our clients. This is a strategic decision that reflects not only where we want to go and what we aspire to be as a company, but also what consumers most value from their real estate professionals. We believe the Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate brand gives us unparalleled marketing resources to target new customers and offer additional value to our clients.”
