Homes.com, a leading online real estate destination and a division of Dominion Enterprises, is giving desktop users a more engaging experience with the launch of its new homepage featuring parallax design. First in the real estate industry to implement this innovative technology, Homes.com’s parallax design provides users with a more eye-catching and interactive experience through remarkable browser effects that bring the site to life and allow consumers to find everything home-related in one location.
“Creating a captivating user experience that connects consumers with real estate professionals and all of our home-related resources was the first priority in designing our new homepage,” says Homes.com’s executive vice president, Brock MacLean. “With the addition of parallax design technology, Homes.com leads the way in site design for the real estate sphere and gives our 12.5 million monthly site visitors a one-of-a-kind experience.”
Parallax scrolling creates a 3D effect, achieving an illusion of depth in which the foreground graphic image moves at a different pace than the background. Homes.com product developers and engineers worked to integrate this state-of-the-art technology in this new homepage design.
Among the design enhancements made possible by the use of parallax technology are an image of a “moving hand” that drops keys in the “Find a Professional” section, an animated phone that correlates with the “Go Mobile” application, and sliding navigation that remains on the page as users scroll. Additionally, local agents are now featured prominently on the homepage based on the user’s local area or recent searches.
The new homepage is a one-stop shop, allowing consumers to search for a home for sale or rent, connect with local real estate professionals, access Homes.com mobile applications, get inspired at Homes.com’s Idea Gallery, find out about Homes.com contests or promotions, and much more.
