According to Mother Nature Network, some of the more recognizable companies that permit pets at work include Replacements Ltd, Google, P & G Petcare, Ben & Jerrys, Autodesk, Build a Bear, Amazon and Cliff Bar & Company.
Several members of Leading Real Estate Companies of the World® don’t wait until June 21 every year to benefit from four-legged office companions. Intero Real Estate Services, whose corporate headquarters is in the same city as Google, has adopted a dog friendly workplace, as well. Gino Blefari, president and CEO, brings the family dog Kona to work daily, as does Eric Rees, the Director of Information Technology. Kona, a Goldendoodle and Miaka, a Shiba Inu are truly at home in the workplace. According to Diana McGrogan, relocation director, “they get along quite well and both have been ‘adopted’ by fellow staff. It’s nice getting love in the middle of the day, and if anyone needs a break, they can take one of the dogs for a walk. It’s such a great stress reliever.”
Cora Bett Thomas Austin Hill & Associates of Savannah, Georgia is another prime example of an enhanced work environment through dogs in the workplace. Luke, a docile Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever, accompanies Austin Hill, director of Operations, to work daily. Luke has become an integral part of the company’s branding campaign, frequently being featured on their Facebook page.
This is nothing new for Cora Bett Thomas Austin Hill & Associates. Cora Bett Thomas, broker, has been including her beloved Bassett Hounds in print and online media for years, and occasionally they visit the office, as well. Downtown Savannah is very pet friendly, so much so that Luke will accompany Austin on meetings with local banks and attorneys. According to Austin, “The corporate clients are much more interested in seeing Luke than seeing me! He does make a lasting impression with all clients which bolsters our brand in the market place.”
