(MCT)—Akon, the R&B and hip-hop singer and producer, has put his ultra-modern home in Los Angeles’ Woodland Hills neighborhood up for sale at $3.5 million.
With the services of designer Miguel Rueda, Akon renovated the house for indoor-outdoor living, creating a focal point swimming pool and spa surrounded by three fire pits and an outdoor kitchen. An upper patio looks down on the pool.
A blue phone room and bluish under-mount lighting accent the white-on-white interiors. Walls of glass and clerestory windows bring light into the interiors.
The 4,098-square-foot house also has a state-of-the-art recording studio, a bar and a three-car garage. There are five bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms.
Akon, who calls Atlanta home, spends a fair amount of time in Los Angeles recording, producing music and pursuing acting. The 41-year-old will be in the independent thriller “American Heist” this year as well as several other upcoming films.
Among his hit songs were “Locked Up,” “Smack That” and “I Want to Love You.”
He bought the nearly half an acre property in September for $1.95 million.
