J. Rockcliff REALTORS® recently announced that REALTOR® Kelly Morgan of the company’s Walnut Creek office has been honored with the 2014 Community Service Award from Contra Costa Association of REALTORS® (CCAR). The award was announced at the CCAR annual banquet and gala on January 9, 2015 at Blackhawk Auto Museum in Danville. The honor is awarded annually to one recipient from nominees culled from the entire Realtor population of Contra Costa County.
During the same ceremony, Morgan also received a Certificate of Recognition from the California State Assembly in appreciation of her “exceptional service and leadership for the people of Contra Costa County.”
Primarily, it was noted that Morgan’s extensive work with Therapy Dogs International garnered her recognition. Morgan and her two therapy-trained Labradors, Geronimo and Ziggy, have spent the past 11 years visiting hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and the elderly offering their comfort and companionship. Both Geronimo and Ziggy retired this year, however Morgan will remain involved with the program. CCAR also presented Morgan with a check for $1,000 for Therapy Dogs International to help the organization with its important work.
In addition to her work with Therapy Dogs International, Morgan was also recognized for her work with myriad other charitable works including Wreaths Across America and the Walnut Creek Library Foundation. She also serves as the Eucharistic Minister at St. Mary’s Church in Walnut Creek.
“It is a constant source of pride, and amazement, to me that Kelly is able to accomplish so much for the community, and still have time to be an outstanding REALTOR®,” says Helene Freeman, vice president and manager of the J. Rockcliff REALTORS®’ Walnut Creek office. “I’m thrilled to congratulate her for being the recipient of this prestigious award. It is well deserved.”
An award-winning and top-producing Realtor for more than 18 years, Morgan credits her varied background with informing her approach to creating successful real estate marketing and fulfilled transactions, as well as her commitment to customer and community service. She was awarded the coveted Chelsea Flower Certificate while living in London in the early 1990’s where she also served as a docent at the Royal Academy on Piccadilly. She spent 13 years as an international flight attendant for TransWorld Airlines and also attended the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising. Additionally, she is the author of a published children’s book – “My Mom’s Many Hats” – written while her son Michael, a De La Salle High School graduate, was growing up.
