Engel & Völkers has opened a Market Center (MC) in the heart of Rome, close to world-famous landmarks including the Colosseum, the Spanish Steps and the Trevi Fountain, the company has announced. The MC concept is aimed at brokering high-end residential property across the whole metropolitan area of Rome. There are already 97 real estate agents working at the MC in Rome. “We are looking to recruit another 240 real estate agents by the end of this year,” revealed Marco Rognini, Managing Director of the Market Center in Rome.
The MC Rome is located at a prime address on the Corso Vittorio Emanuele, with premises spanning around 1,200 square metres. It can be found inside the century-old Palazzo Sforza Cesarini featuring an historic vaulted cellar and a hall of mirrors adorned with ceiling frescoes and reminiscent of the Palace of Versailles. This makes the MC Rome one of the most impressive Engel & Völkers offices in the world.
“Rome is one of the most attractive markets for property investments,” says Marco Rognini. The prices for high-end properties in first-class locations like those inside the so-called ‘Tridente’ between the Piazza del Popolo and the Piazza di Spagna can reach of up to 20,000 euros per square metre. The high level of international demand brings a great deal of stability to Rome’s real estate market. The MC Rome currently receives many buyer enquiries, from countries including the USA, Germany, France, the UK and Spain. Engel & Völkers has been successfully operating on the market in Rome since 2009.
“We intend to strengthen our market position in Rome with the MC, in order to meet the growing need for property,” says Rognini.
Ideal working conditions for real estate agents
The 97 real estate agents already employed at the MC cover the residential property market in various different metropolitan areas in and around Rome. There are currently five teams responsible for sales and one team for rentals. In addition, each team has one team leader and team assistant.
“We also have our own designated teams at the MC Rome for Human Resources, Marketing and Accounting. We aim to offer our real estate agents the best possible working environment, allowing them to concentrate fully on their core work,” Rognini continues. Property lounges are also planned alongside the Market Center, which will serve as points for initiating contact with potential clients in key strategic locations around the Italian capital.
Rome is the ninth Market Center opened by Engel & Völkers to date. Other market centers have already started operations in Barcelona, New York, Bogotá, Vienna, on Malta, in Madrid, Valencia and Dubai.
